Privacy Policy

The short version

We do not keep your photograph. We do not keep your answers. We do not keep your result. We do not create an account for you, and none of it is written to a database anywhere.

There is one exception, and it only happens if you ask for it. If you request early access to what we are building next, we store the email address you give us — and only after you confirm it by following a link we send you. It is kept apart from everything else, it is never connected to your result, and one click deletes it.

We do measure how the calculator is used, but only as anonymous counts of steps reached. Your photograph, your answers and your result are never part of that measurement.

Two separate systems

It is worth being precise about this, because the rest of the page depends on it.

The calculator stores nothing. Your photograph, your answers, your age and your estimate exist only for the moment it takes to produce the result and send it back to your browser. Nothing is written down.

The early access list stores one email address. It lives in different storage, holds nothing but the address, the date you confirmed it and which page you asked from, and has no way of knowing anything about your result. The two systems share no record, no identifier and no way to be joined together.

What we process

Depending on which estimate you choose, you may provide your chronological age, a photograph of your face, and answers to a short lifestyle questionnaire covering sleep, exercise, smoking, alcohol, stress and body measurements.

All of it is used for one purpose only: producing the estimate you asked for and returning it to your browser.

What happens to your photograph

If you upload a photograph, it is sent to our analysis service, held in memory only for as long as the analysis takes, and discarded immediately afterwards. It is never written to permanent storage, never used to train a model, and never shared with a third party.

Analysis runs on our own infrastructure. Your photograph is not sent to an external face recognition service.

What we store from the calculator

Nothing. The calculator is stateless by design. Once your result has been returned to your browser, no record of your inputs or your result exists on our side. Closing the page loses the result, which is a deliberate trade-off in favour of privacy.

Sharing your result

The results page can produce an image showing your biological age and how it compares with your chronological age. That image is drawn by your own browser. No part of your result is sent anywhere in order to make it, and we do not know whether you saved it or who you sent it to.

Early access to what comes next

Beneath your result there is an optional form asking for an email address, so we can tell you when the next part of the product opens. It is entirely optional and the calculator works exactly the same if you ignore it.

When you submit the form we send you a confirmation email and store nothing. Your address at that point exists only inside the link in that message. If you never follow the link, we never have your address. This also means nobody can add you to the list by typing your address into somebody else's browser.

If you do follow the link, we store four things: your email address, the date and time you confirmed, which page you asked from, and a note of which version of this wording you agreed to. We do not store your IP address, your browser, your name, or anything at all about your result.

You will receive one message when early access opens. There is no newsletter and no marketing. Every message carries a link that removes your address, and removal means the record is deleted rather than marked as unsubscribed. We keep no note that the address was ever there.

We do not track whether you opened an email or clicked a link inside it. That feature exists in the service we use to send the messages and we have turned it off.

Accounts

There are none. You cannot register, you cannot log in, and we never ask for your name or any other identifying detail. The only piece of personal information we will ever ask for is an email address, only for early access, and only if you offer it.

Cookies

The website sets no cookies, and runs no advertising or ad-targeting scripts.

One thing is stored on your device: if you switch between the light and dark appearance, that single choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the site does not change under you on the next page. It never leaves your browser, and clearing your site data removes it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how people move through the calculator, so we can find the steps where it is confusing or people give up. It runs in a cookieless mode: it sets no cookie, assigns you no identifier, and does not follow you between visits or across other websites.

What we send is a short list of anonymous events recording that a step happened — the calculator was started, a photo was selected, the questionnaire was completed, an analysis started, finished or failed, a result was shown, a share image was saved or shared, a link was copied, the early access form was submitted, and an early access address was confirmed. Each one may carry which of the three estimate types you chose and a rough speed band such as "two to five seconds", which is how we tell whether the service is fast enough.

What we never send is anything about you or your result. Your photograph, your questionnaire answers, your age, your estimated biological age, your apparent age, your body measurements, your email address, and the contributors and recommendations you were shown are all excluded, by design and without exception. None of it reaches Google. The events recording that the early access form was submitted and that an address was confirmed carry no field capable of holding an address.

Google receives your IP address in order to work out an approximate country or region, and does not store it. If you would rather send nothing at all, any standard content or tracker blocker will stop it, and the calculator is built to work exactly the same way when it is blocked.

If any of this changes, this policy will be updated before the change goes live, and anything requiring consent will ask for it.

Third parties

The website is served by a content delivery network, and the analysis service, the early access list and the emails sent to it all run on a cloud platform. These providers process standard technical information such as IP addresses in order to serve requests and protect against abuse, and the email service keeps its own delivery records showing that a message was sent to an address. Google receives the anonymous events described above. None of them receives your photograph or your answers.

Children

The calculator is intended for adults and supports ages eighteen to one hundred. It is not designed for or directed at children.

Your rights

Data protection law gives you rights to access, correct and erase personal data held about you.

For the calculator there is nothing to exercise them against: we retain nothing, so there is nothing for us to retrieve, amend or delete.

For the early access list, the only thing we hold is your email address. The unsubscribe link in any message we send removes it immediately and permanently. If you would rather write to us instead, or want to know whether an address is on the list at all, use the address below.

Changes to this policy

If the way we handle information changes, this page will be updated before the change takes effect, and the date at the top will change with it.
